Grace Smitherman founded ISI with a commitment to provide exceptional service and premium, quality products.  Over time, she built a reputation that has enabled ISI to serve multiple markets and industries.

Since 1991, Grace’s range of operational and general management expertise in supply and service and in the maritime domain has been key to the company’s success, leading to award-winning plaudits.   Amongst her other distinctions, Grace holds a Master’s Certification in Government Contracting.  With 17 years of vessel operations management experience, the attainment of her US Coast Guard Lifetime Merchant Mariner’s License, having served as Contract Administrator for Mobil Oil, combined with certifications in Information Technology, Grace has been able to provide active leadership in diverse projects.

With the growth of the land based and shipboard gaming industry in Louisiana and Mississippi, Grace and ISI were uniquely qualified to serve the specialized needs of vessel operations maintenance – all aspects of facilities management, security, IT solutions and gaming supplies.  Currently, ISI has found a niche in medical services, staff augmentation and facilities support services.

Grace exhibits a “can-do” spirit that is evidenced by her company, which has stood the test of time.  She fosters her stalwart, winning attitude to the team of professionals employed by and affiliated with ISI.  After losing both her home and office in Hurricane Katrina, Grace is still at the helm of ISI and continues to ride the waves and prove that she and ISI are not only resilient, but indomitable.

Grace is a long-time supporter of other small business ventures.  She has mentored many in start-up and development of viable, sustainable companies.  Grace is a mother of three and resides in Louisiana and Washington, DC.
